BULENGO BRIEFING, DAY 11
The health situation continues to worsen in the camp of Bulengo. No toilets and lack of garbage garbage cans for waste disposal, lack of hygiene points, pregnant women do not sleep under mosquito nets, this is among other things the observation made this Friday, March 03, 2023. These phenomena can accentuate diseases related to hygiene and multiply the cases of malaria in this camp.
BULENGO BRIEFING, DAY 10
AGIR DRC facilitators raise awareness about gender-based violence in the Bulengo camp. Divided into two groups, the facilitators go around a dozen blocks with a pre-recorded message in the megaphone calling on the displaced (men and women) to help each other.
BULENGO BRIEFING, DAY 9
With each passing day, the number of displaced persons continues to grow in various camps around the city of Goma. This is the case of Bulengo, one of the sites that hosts displaced people coming from different localities located west of the city of Goma such as Kichanga, Sake, etc. As of Monday, February 27, 2023, the camp registered 250 more blocks
BULENGO BRIEFING, DAY 8
For one 8ᵉ day, we went down to the Bulengo camp and gave the gift of our humanity. The misery is evident here this morning: new displaced people are being added to the camp, fearing confrontation as the gunshots and bangs are heard even in their villages.
BULENGO BRIEFING, DAY 5
BULENGO; what it costs to be displaced
One would believe oneself to be nowhere, in the void, in nothingness, one would believe oneself to be in an infinity devoid of humanity. One would think oneself in an amplified denial, in a legitimized indifference, in a tolerance of nonsense. Well, we are not far from there
